Another opportunity for the young enthusiasts to improve their handling skills
On an unusually cold August day , a group of highly enthusiastic youngsters gathered to hone their skills with all aspects of handling , judging and preparing cattle for showing.
With some coming from as far as mid Wales, it was a great bunch who were clearly dedicated Angus breeders for the future. As usual there was a great support team passing on their knowledge with lunch and refreshments provided by Andrew & Caroline Carter.
All the cattle used had been well prepared by Keith Jempson who had put many hours into ensuring they were easily handled.

Grooming and clipping

Plenty of enthusiasm as the team get stuck in

We were particularly privileged to have Peter May come and explain his work with Embryo transfer. He showed us his equipment and demonstrated how it all worked as well as running some fascinating video footage showing in detail how eggs are collected and handled prior to being implanted in their new donor.
